Innovative programs start with passionate people. Today we're recognizing Cst. Jerome Sta Maria, winner of our 2023 Most Innovative Police-Youth Program Award for creating meaningful connections between police and youth.

Cst. Sta Maria created the Boys to Men – Peel Police Mentorship Program to fill the gap he saw in the community of young men who needed positive male mentorship. The program was unique because it touched on several life skills required of young men in any part of their professional and personal lives.

Cst. Sta Maria's commitment towards the program and his support of the participating youth was thoughtful and genuine. He has an unwavering passion for his community, demonstrated through his contributions both on and off duty. Cst. Sta Maria designs and develops his programs because he cares and sees the value they bring to the youth in his community.

Congratulations, Cst. Sta Maria! Your dedication to youth mentorship is making a lasting difference.
